Country Study.

At the start of this term we have been doing Country Study. Miss Hines and Miss Power selected a country for each student. My country was Malaysia. We had a criteria were we had to answer all of the questions we got given. We also had to make sure that we had a Bibliography were we put the links into a document with the websites we found our information on. I chose to present my Country Study like a Travel Agent Booklet. I made a Google Drawings for every question and put it in a clear file folder. Here are a few google drawings with some information to do with Malaysia. 

Tye Dye.

This week we have been busy doing Tie Dye. Next Friday we have an Art Soriee and we have to make a piece of Art work to show. All of Totara are doing Tie Dye. There will be an auction on the tops. The person who bids the most amount of money will get the top. The spiral design was the most common in my class. I choose that design as well. We were allowed the maximum of three colours.I choose Green,Pink and Purple. Stay in tuned to see the finished product.

Mistletoe Bay.

This year for camp we are going on Mistletoe Bay. We had to create a presentation showing what we are going to be doing,how to get there, accomadation and lots more. Here is my finsihed product and I hope you like it.

Poetry Anthology & Food Pyramaid.

This week and last week for Writing we have been focusing on writing Diamante Poems and Limericks.It is for our Poetry Anthology book that  we are doing this term. HEre is one of my Limericks and one of my Diamantes.






Also a few weeks ago we went and had a few sessions with Harold. We were focusing on Health an Nutrition. One thing that Harold introduced us to was the Food Pyramaid. The food Pyrmaid shows you how much servings you sould have a day of Fruit,Vegetables etc. We then had to remake Harolds food pyramaid on a goggle drawing. Here is mine.

Weekly Reflection.

Kia ora welcome to my forst blog post of 2018. These past two weeks have been fun and busy . We have already done so much work that I get to share with you.

Maths:
For maths we have done lots of work sheets focusing on using algorithms. We have done 4 digit by 4 digit subtraction with borrowing, 2 digit by 2 digit multiplaction, 2 digit by 1 digit multiplacation, Adding deciamls, Subtarcting decimals and short divison. My favourite one was 2 digit by 2 digit multiplacation and Adding decimals. We also have started to do a basic facts test every morning. We have 100 mixed basic facts to complete in 5 minutes. My highest that I got was 100/100 in 1:27.

Writing:
For the next six weeks we are doing Poetry Anthology. I have already completed all 3 of my Acrostic Poems. I did one on the Beach one callled Tropical and one called Summer. My favourite one is Tropical because it has lots of descriptive words. What one was your favourite? One thing that I struggled with was trying to find some words to start the sentence off so I went to a dictonary and found some words that helped me.















Art:
For art we had to do a digital collage on us. We were not allowed to get photos off the internet they had to be photos of you or photos, you or your parents have taken. I really enjoyed doing this but the one thing that was hard was trying to fit all of my pictures into one google drawing. I completed it in the end and here is the finsihed product.

Solar System.

For the past 4 weeks we have been working on our space topic.We had a few activitys to do and one of them was to write facts about each planet. My favourite planet is Venus. Comment down below what your favourite comment is.

WK6 Work .

For topic we have been studying on Vincent Van Gogh. We have three activitys that we have to complete and I want to share my Hatching Presentation with you because I think that explains Hatching good. Here is the pressentation.

2000 New Plants Found This Year .

Today during Reading we had a few choices of what we would like to do and one of them was to go on Kiwi Kids News. I choose to read the article about 2000 New Plants Found This Year.I found it really interesting and I found out a lot of information. One thingthat I found out that many of the new plants discovered have the potential to be used for Food, Crops, Medicenes or sources of Timber. I also found out that Researchers at Kew are trying to identify what plants are at most risk for extinction. Some of the other plants discovered include some new relatives of Aloe Vera.
