Mal the Mischevious mermaid

The book was about Mal the mermaids family was bad and Mal had to prove her family wrong . So Mal tried by going to the sea monsters cave called the Kraken and pulled out its tooth. Mal went to show her family but they didn't believe here . So Mal got mad and went up to the surface and saw that people were making a fun park called Merworld . Mal was so angry and wanted to earn a badge of badness . She pulled all the tricks and Mal got her badge of badness and finally her family believed her .

 Horse tales was about lots of short horse tales . My favourite horse tale was chestnut grey. It was about a farmer who had meet a magical horse . He was a poor farmer boy and there was a competition which was who ever can jump up to the highest deck of the castle and get the princess's ring will be her husband . The farmer got the ring but was scared that the princess would dislike him . But she didn't and that is why it was my favourite tale. It is a good book and i liked reading it .

Matariki.

Matariki is the mother of the 6 daughters that are the stars in the sky. Here is a picture of them.

The seven sisters names are Uru-a rangi ,Tupu-a-rangi , Tupu-a-nuku  ,Waipuna-a-rangi, Waita, Waiti and Matariki. I learnt that Matariki is celebrated every year in May and ends in late June. The date of Matariki changes every year. 

Uru-a-rangi is the youngest out of the sisters and Tupu-a-nuku is the eldest. Waita and Waiti are twins and they always work toghther .

I also learnt that Matariki is a special celebration to New Zealand .
