Antarctica and Naritive.

This week we have been doing some Antarctica activities. One of our activities was to do a Fcat File on and animal that lives in Antarctica. I choose to do Polar Bears and while I was researching I found out that Polar Bears only live in the Artic but I was still allowed to do Polar Bears . Here is my finished product.












Through out the past2-3 weeks we ahve been working on some narritive writing. Miss HInes had picked a photo for everyone had to write a Narrative about it. I called my narritive the Grey Stray. Hope you like it .



I have been running for miles and miles by now. I take a glimpse behind me and my home is now nowhere to be seen. I take a look in front of me . I look at the trail and I feel like it is never going to end . I can hear the the birds squawking in the distance wanting to find the light. I can feel the squishy leafs underneath my feet. I just heard deep cold breath coming from behind me . I look into the dark bush and see a shadow running past me . I look ahead and can see glowing eyes staring at me. I have a feeling someone or something is following me through my journey.I get a ray of sunlight gleaming into the woods. The brunches are so thick . I look ahead and can hear hear twigs rattling as load as a rattlesnake. Bounce . A big grey wolf comes out looking ferocious as ever. His saliva is dribbling down his mouth like he is hunting for food . His big black beady eyes are as scary as a tornado. I notice that he has an old rusty collar hanging of his neck. In the distance I can just see the name Jado. He is starts to walk closer and closer to me and Boom! He is running right towards like I am his lunch. I start to run and run as fast as I can , like my feet are on fire. I am to afraid to look back I just keep on running. I follow the path and I can see a speck of light that is only a few miles away. I follow the light and look behind me . I can see the dog watching me run into the distance. I slowly start to give up running until . I scream ahhhhhh . I look down at my feet and I am falling down a cliff. The ground is nowhere to be seen I don’t know when and where I am going to land . I slowly start to shut my eyes and pray that I am going to stay alive . I tilt my head back and look up into the misty dark sky. I can see the black crowes circling the sky like they are ruling the land. I start to shut my eyes and all I see is black. That was the last time anyone had ever heard from me.

The Boy In The Striped Pyjama's- What it means to be a Good Friend.

In chapter 18 of The Boy In The Striped Pyjama's, Bruno and Shmuel have planned something that they are both very exited about. It is going to be their last adventure togther before Bruno moves back to Berlin. Shmuel is going to get a pair of striped pyjamas so Bruno can wear them and go on the other side of the fence and help find Shmeul's father. We had to do this activity on What makes a Good Friend since Bruno and Shmuel are friends. Here is my goggle drawing on what makes a good friend. Hope you like it.

The Boy In The Striped Pyjama's.

Here are 2 comprehension activities with the answer's that we have done for this week.We have read chapter 8 and chapter 9. I enjoyed these chapters becasue it gave usmoredetail about Out-With and the Grandmother was the only one who realised that Father was doing something bad.

Term 4 Week 2 Reflection.

This week we have been working had.
We have read some more of the Boy In The Striped Pyjama's . Here is and activity I have done this week. We had to find up to 10 facts about the concentration camps in World War ll. I think they are extremely sad and I would hate to have been sent to one.


We also have been learning how to write and explanation .This week I had finished writing my explanation on the lifecycle of a frog.



A frog is a living animal that is a tailless amphibian with a short squat body moist smooth skin, and very long hind legs for leaping. It is green and sometimes brown and sometimes have spots. They live in swamps or ponds so they can lay their eggs in water. There are approximately 4,740 species of frogs all around the world and since 1980 120 species of frogs have disappeared.  The lifecycle of a frog is a very interesting one.




Frogs lay up to 3,000 to 6,000 eggs at a time. They lay about 20,000 eggs per year.  It takes about 6 to 21 days average for the eggs to hatch while the little tadpole is moving around in its egg which means it is an embryo. An Embryo is the thing that protects the tadpoles while it is growing and getting strength . After they hatch out of the embryo they hang onto a water plant like weeds , elegy, and a lilypad. while they start to grow . The first stages of a tadpole is that they start to grow, their tail and it gets longer and longer. It is so they can swim faster in the water and get away from predators.  The reason they need  a long tail is because there parents leave them to fend for themselves.  Image result for tadpole embryo




While the tadpoles cling onto the water plant they start to grow even more. Their main body parts they need to survive start to grow such as. The first body part that starts to grow is there External gills for breathing. The reason why the external gills grow first is because they need their gills so they can breathe. If they didn’t have their external gills they would not survive . Then there tail keeps on growing and growing throughout the whole process . It just gets longer and longer. After a while there hind legs start to appear . It takes about six to nine weeks for the hind legs to appear. During that process the tadpole starts to look more like a frog. Its body starts to get more circular around the face and its leg gets longer. Image result for tadpole





The tail is now long enough that the frog is now starting to live from food that is stored in its tail. Now the front legs start to appear. The front arms will start to appear and the elbows will appear first .then after 9 weeks it will start to look more like a frog. There legs start to grow and get a lot of strength. Then there tail starts to become shorter and shorter and then Eventually it falls of . It starts to shrink . The frog does not eat until the tail is absorbed because it is a valuable food source. The front usually leaves the water before the tail is completely gone. Now it is a Young healthy frog. Image result for tadpole

Now the frog is an Adult. It will start to Leave the ponds and swamps and explore the world. They will meet different spices and predators. It will have lots of strength to survive and it will start to have a family of its own.






A frog lifecycle is a great thing to learn about and it has many stages in its life to be fully grown.


On Thursday we also have started our calender art.I choose to do an agorignal art and I am  doing a butterfly. This picture is the thing that inspired me to do a butterfly.

Today we also have Grandparents day and I have invited my Grandparents to come and I can't wait to show them all my work.

The Boy In The Striped Pyjama's.

We have just finished reading the fourth chapter of The Boy In The Striped Pyjama's. The Chapter was about Bruno and Gretel found lots of people wearing all the same clothing and working hard. The people were getting yelled at by all the soliders and they looked like they were crying. There are hundreds maybe even thousands. I think that the people aren't even getting fed and they don't have a bed to sleep in . In the next chapter I think Bruno and Gretel might try to go see what is going on over there fence.

New Novel Study- Boy in the Striped Pyjamas.

This Term we are starting our new class novel study. We are reading The boy In The Striped Pyjamas. The book is set in World War ll in Berlin. The main character is Bruno and he has no idea what is father does as a job and now all of a sudden he has to move away miles and miles away. So far we have read the first 2 chapters and we have been doing some activites and answering some questuions about the book. Here is what I have done so far.

We are starting to do a novel study for the reast of this term . We have to complete 20 activites and one of the activites was do re design our book cover . I am reading Kiss and Spell which is a series feom Ever after high. This is mine .

Swimming Explanation.

Our class has been learning how to write a good explanation. This week we were aloud to write an explanation on any subject. I choose swimming and this is my explanation . I hope you like it. 

Swimming.
Swimming is a type of sport that gives you strength and makes you fit. Swimming is featured at a  swimming pool. You can do as many laps as you would like . It is a very fun sport and you need a lot of energy. It can be for anyone . Swimming started in the 1st century. Swimming can be in lots of different competitions and is great for survival.

Strokes and laps.
There are four main strokes in swimming. There are freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke and Butterfly. The fastest stroke would be freestyle. Swimming started in the olympics in 1869. The very first strokes they decided to put into the olympics were freestyle and Breaststroke. Then in 1904 they added backstroke into the competition. Most pools are 25 metres which counts as one length but then some pools are 50 metres which counts as 2 lengths.

Equipment.
There's a few equipment you need for swimming. Firstly you will need togs. Togs are a waterproof suit the is made to go in the water.They are made out of lycra .  Girls wear either tog’s or a race suit . The race suit makes you go faster. Then men usually wear speedo shorts or long  race suit. Race suits have the top of the togs but then go down to shin length or all the way. They come in many different patterns and colours. Girls and Boys can both wear swim caps. Swim caps protect their hair from not getting wet. It also makes you go faster . It is also better to have shorter hair than longer hair because shorter hair makes you go faster because there is not as much weight.

Other Types of Swimming.
There are other types of swimming. You don’t just have to swim in competitions and not just in a pool. It is an amazing time to go swimming in the summer. You can go swimming at the beach and in lakes and rivers. In the ocean you can go surfing and bodyboarding and on the lake you can go biscuiting. Swimming is a great thing to do with your family.


Swimming is a good way to keep fit and cool in the Summer.
